Calls with us may be handled by an automated voice assistant and may be recorded. Here is exactly what that means.
To answer quickly and at any hour, BookedChef.com uses an automated voice assistant to make and receive some calls. It will identify itself as an automated assistant at the start of the call. It is not a person, though it speaks conversationally. You can ask to speak to a human at any point, and you can end the call at any point.
Calls to and from BookedChef.com may be recorded and transcribed so we have an accurate record of what you asked for, so we can pass the right details to your chef, and so we can check the quality of our own service.
Florida is an all-party consent state. Under Florida law, everyone on a call must consent before it may be recorded. You will be told at the start of any call that it is being recorded, before the recording of the substance of the conversation begins. If you do not consent, say so and we will either stop recording or end the call — and you can still reach us by email at hello@bookedchef.com or through the form on this site. Continuing the call after the notice is treated as your consent.
Because our assistant uses an artificial voice, calls from us are treated as automated calls under United States telephone-consent rules, which require your prior express written consent. That is what the consent box on our request form provides. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and you may withdraw it at any time.
To stop automated calls, tell the assistant, reply STOP to any text, or email hello@bookedchef.com. We will honour the request promptly, and you can still work with us by email or with a human on the phone.
Recordings and transcripts are stored securely in our customer-relationship system and are accessible only to people who need them. We use them to complete your request, to keep an accurate record of your consent, and to improve our service. We do not publish them, sell them, or use them to build advertising profiles. We keep them no longer than we need to and no longer than the record-keeping periods that apply to us, then delete them.
You can ask for a copy of a recording of your own call, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@bookedchef.com from the address you gave us or quoting the phone number you called from. Where we are legally required to retain a consent record we will tell you.
Chefs we introduce you to are independent businesses. If a chef records a call with you, that is their responsibility and their notice to give, not ours.
