Please read these terms before using the site. They explain what we do, what we do not do, and where responsibility sits.
BookedChef.com introduces you to independent private chefs. We do not cook, cater, employ chefs or supervise them, and we do not verify their credentials. Your agreement for the food and the service is with the chef, not with us.
BookedChef.com is an introduction service. We collect your requirements and pass them to independent private chefs who serve your area. We are not a chef, a caterer, a restaurant or an employment agency, and we do not cook, cater or supply food. Any booking you make is a contract between you and the chef, not between you and us. We are not a party to it.
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into a contract. You agree to give us accurate information, and in particular that the phone number you provide is yours to give — that you are the subscriber or customary user of that number and are authorised to consent to being contacted on it. Submitting someone else's number without their permission is a breach of these terms and may also breach the law.
You agree not to submit false enquiries, scrape the site, attempt to interfere with it, or use it for anything unlawful.
We will make a genuine effort to match you with a suitable chef, but we cannot promise that a chef will be available for your date, area, guest count or budget, that any chef will contact you, or that you will agree terms with one. Availability during peak season in Palm Beach County is limited and books early.
Chefs set their own prices. Any figure shown on this site is an illustration, not a quote. Your chef confirms the actual price with you before your event.
BookedChef.com does not verify chefs' credentials, qualifications, licensing, insurance, food-safety certification, criminal history or references. We do not supervise chefs, control how they work, or take responsibility for the food they prepare, the standard of their service, their punctuality or their conduct in your home. Chefs are independent businesses and those are their own legal responsibilities.
Because we do not check these things, you should. Your chef contacts you before anything is booked, and that call is your opportunity: ask about their experience, ask whether they carry liability insurance, and ask whether they hold the food-handling certification required where you live. A professional chef will expect the question and will not mind answering it. Satisfy yourself before you let anyone cook in your home.
Tell your chef, directly and clearly, about every allergy, intolerance and dietary restriction affecting anyone who will eat the food, and confirm it before your event. Passing this information to us does not discharge that duty. Home kitchens are not allergen-controlled environments and cross-contamination is possible. See our Disclaimer.
Using BookedChef.com to request a chef is free to you. We are paid by the chefs in our network. This does not change what you pay a chef, and it does not mean a chef has bought the right to your booking — you are free to speak to any chef, accept or decline any quote, and use anyone you like.
Cancellation and refund terms are set by your chef and agreed between you and them. We are not able to issue refunds for a chef's services. If something goes wrong we would still like to know, because a chef's conduct affects whether they stay in our network — email hello@bookedchef.com.
By submitting the form you consent to be contacted about your request by phone call, automated or AI-assisted call, text message and email, on a recorded line, at the number and address you gave. The design, text, photographs and code on this site belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them commercially without our permission. Photographs are illustrative and do not depict a specific chef, meal or customer unless stated.
The site and the introduction service are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of the site or any dealing with a chef. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of any chef, including the quality or safety of food.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to one hundred United States dollars (US$100).
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these terms, from information you submit that is inaccurate or that you had no right to submit, and from your dealings with a chef.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules in your own jurisdiction.
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
