This policy explains what we collect when you ask us to find you a private chef, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.
We collect the details you type into the request form — name, phone, email, area, occasion, date, guest count, budget and any allergies — and we share them with the chef considering your booking. We do not sell personal information. You can ask us to delete your details at any time by emailing us, and we will.
You tell us about the meal you want. We pass those details to private chefs who serve your area, so one of them can contact you and arrange it. That sharing is the entire point of the service, and it is the most important thing to understand about this policy. We do not sell your information to data brokers, and we do not hand your phone number to unrelated companies for their own marketing.
BookedChef.com operates the website at https://bookedchef.com and the private-chef matching service described on it. We are based in Canada and serve customers in Palm Beach County, Florida. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean BookedChef.com.
Information you give us. When you complete the request form or speak to us on the phone, we collect your first name, phone number, email address, the area you are in, the occasion, the date you want a chef, your guest count, your budget range, and any notes you add about cuisine, dietary needs or allergies.
Consent records. We record the fact that you ticked the consent box, the exact wording you agreed to, and the date and time. We keep this because telephone-consent rules in the United States require us to be able to prove it.
Call recordings and transcripts. Calls to and from us may be recorded, and may be handled by an automated voice agent. Our AI Calling and Call Recording Notice explains this in full.
Technical information. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, the page you arrived from, and marketing parameters such as UTM tags and Google click identifiers. This tells us which of our pages and adverts actually help people.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, payment card numbers, government identification numbers or medical records. Allergy and dietary information is the one health-adjacent detail we do handle, because a chef cannot cook safely without it.
We use your information to match you with chefs who cover your area and can handle your occasion, date, guest count and budget; to contact you by phone, text, automated call or email about your request; to confirm the details before passing them on; to keep records that show we had your consent; to prevent spam and fraudulent submissions; and to understand which pages and adverts bring us genuine enquiries so we can improve them.
Chefs in your area. This is the core of the service. When your request matches a chef's service area, cuisine and availability, we pass on the details you gave us so they can contact you and quote. Chefs are independent businesses, not our employees. Once a chef has your details, their own handling of that information is their responsibility, and we require them to use it only to respond to your enquiry.
Service providers who run parts of our operation. These currently include our customer-relationship platform, which stores your record and powers our calls and messages; our web host; our telephone and messaging carriers; and analytics and advertising platforms. They act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
Where the law requires it. We will disclose information if we are legally compelled to, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety or defend a legal claim.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your phone number or email with third parties for their own marketing.
We operate from Canada and use service providers located in the United States and elsewhere. If you are in the United States, your information will be processed in Canada; if you are in Canada, some of it will be processed in the United States. Privacy laws in these countries are not identical, and information held in a country may be accessible to that country's authorities under its own laws. By using the service you accept this transfer.
Our Cookie Policy sets out exactly what is stored on your device and how to control it.
We keep your enquiry and your consent record for as long as needed to run and defend the service, and for at least the period required by the telephone-consent rules that apply to us. Call recordings are kept for a shorter period, described in the AI Calling and Call Recording Notice. When information is no longer needed we delete it or strip it of anything that identifies you.
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can withdraw consent to calls, texts and automated calls at any time — reply STOP to any text, tell the caller, or email us. Withdrawing consent stops future contact from us; it does not undo an introduction already made to a chef, and you may need to contact that chef directly.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including the right to know what categories of information we collect, the right to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, and the right not to be treated differently for exercising a right. To exercise any of these, email hello@bookedchef.com with the phone number or email address you used, so we can find your record. We will not charge you and we will not discriminate against you for asking.
The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are validated on our server, and access to your record is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously and will tell you promptly if a breach affects you.
This service is for adults. It is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email us and we will delete it.
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be signposted on the site.
